Who is Blithe Spirit?
Editor & Publisher is Jim Bowman.
Home plate is Oak Park & River Forest, side-by-side Chicago suburbs.
Bowman is onetime newsman (Chicago Daily News, 1968-78), covering religion, and since 1978 independent writer and editor (books, articles, etc.).
In Blithe Spirit, born of a desire to get things off his chest and into the minds and hearts of readers, he roves literature and the news, hoping to pique interest and afford a modicum of pleasure. He invites you to partake.
Another thing: He is a born-again conservative (the worst kind), and the Careful Reader will be on the alert.
Bowman receives help in this from his friend Jake (not his real name), who is decent enough but difficult. He keeps a journal of Jake's activities and great thoughts, more or less as a public service.
